We are officially in the spring market! As I predicted in the past, the downtown condo market has started to pick up. I have noticed more high-rise condos selling over list price in the past few weeks. I’m expecting that this trend will continue into the summer. Single homes in the 800k and higher price point seem to have slowed down in sales, many not receiving any offers on presentation day and remaining on the market for a few weeks. The townhouse market remains strong, and the stacked/two and three storey condo-towns are also selling for record high numbers – many of them into the mid 500’s. I’m curious to see where the market will take us into the summer months. Stay tuned for your monthly updates!

Neighbourhood Feature – Findlay Creek

One of the fastest growing communities in the south end of Ottawa, Findlay Creek is home to over 8000 people. Most of the homes were built in the mid 2000’s by Tartan, Tamarack, Claridge, Richcraft, Urbandale and a few others. Several amenities are located within the community – a shopping plaza with a Canadian Tire, Freshco, McDonalds, Tim Hortons, Shoppers Drug Mart and several other shops. A brand-new plaza across the road features a Crust and Crate, Starbucks, RBC bank, a barber shop, dentist and more. Vimy Ridge Public School teaches from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 English and offers French immersion. A new Catholic elementary school is also coming to the area. Diamond Jubilee Park is one of several parks in the community which includes a playground, a splash pad, a gazebo, a permanently boarded outdoor rink with two full-size basketball courts, a skate park, a fitness trail, and a mini soccer field. The closest golf course, Falcon Ridge Golf Club is only minutes away near the Rideau Carleton Raceway and Casino. Findlay Creek is an excellent family neighbourhood and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to make a move.
